Not one speckle of snow on the ground

You know, it is Dec., 24 2014 and there is not one speckle of snow on the ground.

I remember, when I was young, back in the 50 s and 60 s, there was always snow on everything on Christmas eve and Christmas day.  In fact, on one Christmas we were in New Brunswick visiting the grand parents, and we were getting ready to go out side.  Much to our amazement, we could not get the house door open, nor could we see the car because it was buried in snow.

At the moment it, it is 46 degrees.

I wonder if on the very first Christmas day, if this was what the temperature was really like....

I think I will go and look that up......that certainly was an interesting space of time and research. With regard to the weather in Bethlehem, currently, it is 10F at 6p.m. ish. It was difficult to actually pin down weather conditions in ancient Bethlehem. If I spent more time on it I might find something out.

A more troubling, for me, as a Christian, issue kept reappearing in my brief research. There are many articles proclaiming that according to the Jewish calendar, Jesus was not born in December at all. At this point, this too I am not going to discuss since tomorrow is Christmas. Would be interesting read at another time. For now however...

Let us keep out hearts and minds full of JOY......
